Spectrum Generating Affine Lie Algebras in Massive Field Theory

چکیده
We present a new application of affine Lie algebras to massive quantum field theory in 2 dimensions, by investigating the q → 1 limit of the q-deformed affine ŝl(2) symmetry of the sine-Gordon theory, this limit occurring at the free fermion point. We describe how radial quantization leads to a quasi-chiral factorization of the space of fields. The conserved charges which generate the affine Lie algebra split into two independent affine algebras on this factorized space, each with level 1, in the anti-periodic sector. The space of fields in the anti-periodic sector can be organized using level-1 highest weight representations, if one supplements the ŝl(2) algebra with the usual local integrals of motion. Using the integrals of motion, a momentum space bosonization involving vertex operators is formulated. This leads to a new way of computing form-factors, as vacuum expectation values in momentum space.

Realization of locally extended affine Lie algebras of type $A_1$
Locally extended affine Lie algebras were introduced by Morita and Yoshii in [J. Algebra 301(1) (2006), 59-81] as a natural generalization of extended affine Lie algebras. After that, various generalizations of these Lie algebras have been investigated by others. It is known that a locally extended affine Lie algebra can be recovered from its centerless core, i.e., the ideal generated by weight...

متن کاملThe Field Theory Limit of Integrable Lattice Models
The light-cone approach is reviewed. This method allows to find the underlying quantum field theory for any integrable lattice model in its gapless regime. The relativistic spectrum and S-matrix follows straightforwardly in this way through the Bethe Ansatz. We show here how to derive the infinite number of local commuting and non-local and non-commuting conserved charges in integrable QFT, tak...
متن کاملUnitary Representations of Some Infinite Dimensional Lie Algebras Motivated by String Theory on AdS3
We consider some unitary representations of infinite dimensional Lie algebras motivated by string theory on AdS3. These include examples of two kinds: the A,D,E type affine Lie algebras and the N = 4 superconformal algebra. The first presents a new construction for free field representations of affine Lie algebras. The second is of a particular physical interest because it provides some hints t...
متن کاملExtended affine Lie algebras and other generalizations of affine Lie algebras – a survey
Motivation. The theory of affine (Kac-Moody) Lie algebras has been a tremendous success story. Not only has one been able to generalize essentially all of the well-developed theory of finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras and their associated groups to the setting of affine Lie algebras, but these algebras have found many striking applications in other parts of mathematics. It is natural to as...
